05 Waterton

From there we went north to visit the Waterton Provincial Park in Canada. They inspected our vehicle on the way into Canada. Didn’t take long. Lucy slept through it I think. Followed the Rockies north, through Banff and Jasper. Very busy. Lots of cool alpine scenery. And finally a GOOD view of glaciers! In fact, we slept in the parking lot of that last glacier there. They have electric fences around the campgrounds! So the bears won’t get to the tent campers. I’d never thought about sleeping inside an electric fence before. Not for fun nor profit. There was a rockslide that buried parts of the town of Frank, Alberta in 1903. Miners dug their way out. They stopped a train from ramming clotted railroad tracks. I’d never heard of such a thing…
